Stop Bullying by Empowering the Bystander

A Free Neuro-Semantics Tool for Your Classroom

Most anti-bullying programs fail because they rely on policing the aggressor. The Harmonia Power Zone Method empowers the victim and the bystander to take away the bully's fuel: Reaction.

The Core Concept

What is the "Power Zone"?

In our Integrative Anti-Bullying System, the "Power Zone" is the psychological space where a student has 100% control.

?

"Who is in charge of your brain?"

Ask your students this powerful question to spark self-reflection

?

"Who is the boss of your feelings?"

Help students recognize their emotional agency and choice

The 4 Powers Every Student Owns

To Think

I decide what thoughts I keep in my head

To Feel

I decide how I react to what happens

To Speak

I choose the words that come out of my mouth

To Act

I choose what I do with my body

If a student understands these 4 powers, an insult becomes just "noise" outside their zone.

Ready-to-Use Activity

"Thank you, [Student Name], for volunteering. Please stand right here in the center of this hoop."
2
The Zone

Tell the class that everything inside the hoop is the student's "Kingdom."

"Class, look at this circle. Everything inside this hoop is [Student Name]'s Kingdom. In this Kingdom, they are the King or Queen. They make all the rules. They are the boss."
3
The Intrusion

Ask another student to stand outside and say a meaningless mean word.

"Now, I need another volunteer. [Student 2], please stand outside the hoop. I want you to say to [Student 1]: 'You are purple!' Say it like you mean it."
4
The Lesson

Ask the student inside the hoop three powerful questions.

Question 1:

"Did the word touch you?"

Expected Answer: "No"

Question 2:

"Did the word make you purple?"

Expected Answer: "No"

Question 3:

"Who decides if you get angry?"

Expected Answer: "Me / I do"

5
The Takeaway
